For the entire month of May, Coates Hire will be donating $5 from every hire* to the Salvation Army NSW Storm Appeal at Coates Hire branches located in the Hunter, Newcastle and Central Coast region.
These donations will directly support the efforts undertaken by the Salvation Army to help with the clean up following the devastating storms that recently impacted the region.
Funds will be raised collectively across Coates Hire branches in the region including: Beresfield, Berkley Vale, Boolaroo, West Gosford, Lambton, Maitland, Thornton and Newcastle from 1 May, 2015 until 30 May, 2015.
The storms that tore through large parts of New South Wales last week have left home and business owners facing an estimated $300 million clean-up bill.
The Hunter Valley was particularly ravaged by the storms, with major flooding, road closures and stock losses, especially in and around the Hunter Valley regional center of Maitland and the town of Dungog. The storms, which some have said were the worst seen in the state in 18 years, also resulted in four deaths - all in the greater Hunter region.
Coates Hire Area Manager, Jon Perry, said, “The clean up is underway. Having felt the impact of the storm first hand, this initiative ensures we can give back to the community.”
“Our staff and customers in the hunter region live locally and were also affected by these devastating storms. Our thoughts are with those suffering through what will be a tough clean up. We are extremely grateful for the Salvation Army who has stepped in to provide help and much needed support to local businesses and residents.”
“We hope our collective efforts to support this great cause will help the people of the Hunter Valley, Newcastle and Central Coast get back on their feet.”
