Percat's blitzing race 3 win @ Townsville 400
9 July 2012
Coates Hire Racing's Nick Percat, capped off a solid weekend on the track with a 10-second win in race 3 at Townsville, QLD.
Percat in the #222 Coates Hire Commodore claimed second place overall behind former series leader Chaz Mostert in the Ford Performance Racing Falcon.
Showing the difference one round can make, Percat's result leap-frogged him from sixth to third in the Dunlop series.
The result comes days after veteran V8 Supercars' driver, Garth Tander, voiced confidence in teaming with the young Coates Hire Racing driver again to potentially replicate last year's dramtatic Bathurst win.
"I'm really comfortable with where Nick's at and what he's doing ... obviously has 12 months experience under his belt and has obviously done the race now so as a combination I'm really comfortable with our potential."
