COATES HIRE 2015 GRADUATE PROGRAM IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS
28 November 2014
Graduates now have the opportunity to fast-track an exciting and challenging career with Coates Hire, an iconic Australian company, by applying to enter the 2015 Graduate Program.
The three-year Graduate Program is designed to lead graduates to full-time Branch Management positions, according to Group Manager HR Services Graham Beal.
“Moreover,” he says, “the Graduate Program helps identify exceptional candidates for management roles, who will be fast-tracked to join the Operational Leadership team.”
The course combines technical training in all aspects of Coates Hire operations with executive mentorship to foster leadership skills and innovative thinking. The structure of the course involves five rotations through core areas of operations, Management, Sales and Customer Relations.
Coates Hire is the world’s 8th largest equipment rental company – delivering more than 1 million pieces of equipment per year and with over 2,400 employees and 230 branches across Australia.
“Graduates will face real-life challenges which they must resolve through autonomous problem-solving, and are offered networking opportunities with customers, peers, graduate-led community programs, senior executives and even the CEO,” says Beal.
Each graduate is provided with an individualised career development plan serving the dual purpose of achieving personal goals and guiding individuals who show potential.
“The qualities we are looking for are resourcefulness, initiative, flexibility and openness to change, communication skills, team outlook, big ideas and wanting to make a difference,” he says.
“Academically we’re interested in graduates with a GPA of credit, distinction or above, in disciplines including civil, mining, mechanical or electrical engineering; business management, occupational health and safety, human resources and logistics; and finance, economics or commerce.”
Application is initially online in the form of a brief résumé outlining education, work experience and career direction reference, with a cover letter and academic transcripts.
