IRN100 survey ranks the world’s top 100 hire companies on their rental revenues and its results deliver incontrovertible evidence on performance.
In an industry dominated globally by North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, South East Asia and Japan, the next Australian ranking is Boom Logistics in 56th place, followed by Kennards Hire in 59th place, and Onsite Rental at 78th.
All the top eight organisations have a significant annual turnover, with Coates Hire’s place in this group confirms its status as an organisation operating competitively to international standards.
This is reflected in another IRN100 survey data report, Capital Expenditure Top 25 Investors, which also includes Coates Hire at AUD $108.7 million. It provides a clue to why Coates Hire enjoys international ranking.
“We lead the Australian market in fleet investment, only procuring high quality brands for superior customer performance,” states Coates Hire CEO Michael Byrne.
At the same time, the company has extended its market share by expanding the scope of its service offering.
“Our unique ability to provide total equipment solutions helps our customers drive both time and cost efficiencies,” says Coates Executive General Manager Sales Greg Parfitt.
“We are successful because we listen, deliver and go the extra mile for our customers.”
To make these strategies effective Coates Hire has maintained national geographical spread, a critical factor in ensuring service provision to Australia’s widely dispersed areas of industry demand, and one that has incrementally enhanced the company’s reputation. “We have supported Australian businesses for over 130 years and, with over 230 branches Australia wide, continually invest in our fleet and people,” Byrne affirms.
“We are passionately committed to safety and reliability, ensuring we help provide our customers the winning edge.”
Another Australian company, Force Access, has dropped out of the top 100 in the IRN100 2015 report (see story P14) with companies such as Boom Logistics and Onsite Rental’s annual revenue reported to have fallen has fallen. These losses have contributed to Coates Hire’s gains.
The ability to win market share away from competitors is the result of a multitude of considered factors derived from keen analysis and customer responsiveness proving key.
“Our newly formed leadership team has given us the flexibility to deliver an agile powerhouse in the rental market,” Byrne says, “and we are excited about the future as we continue to build and grow.”
