Coates Hire to supply more generators for those affected by Tasmanian bushfires
9 January 2013
Coates Hire is demonstrating its passion and commitment to Australia to help build a better future with the announcement today that we will be shipping an additional and crucial supply of equipment to those affected by the bushfires in Tasmania, when and where needed for both business and the general public.
At Coates Hire, we believe having such a broad reach comes with a lot of responsibility, particularly in the local communities around Australia, in which we play an important role. As such, Coates Hire will be providing an additional supply of up to 50 generators of all sizes to fire affected areas around Tasmania as it continues to meet high demands and keep customers with power generation.
“The demand on our power division in particular has been enormous over the past few days, and has simply outstripped our current supply level. In anticipation of further demand and with continued long term power outages, we have taken the first step to alleviate this issue in transporting portable generators from our Victorian operations” said Garry Brown, Tasmanian Area Manager.
“Additionally, as a further way to ease the burden on the Tasmanian Peninsula if the Falls Festival site has been zoned as SAFE by emergency services personnel
, the company would like to offer affected residences the opportunity to utilise buildings and toilet facilities in the short term until the danger has passed (these facilities will be available for another week and information about how to access the site will be made available soon).”
“These facilities include buildings with kitchen facilities and air conditioning and will provide a bit of normality until the danger has cleared.”
“It is important that we are able to make a contribution to the communities in which we operate and we take pride in giving back to the Tasmanian people who have supported us over the years. This is just one of the many ways Coates Hire supports the Tasmanian community in which it operates,” concluded Mr Brown.
