Harbouring Steep Inclines @ Mosman

What do you do when a home renovation job is 30m below road level with only steep stair access in place to transport materials both up and down? You call Coates Hire of course!
Recently J P Thew Constructions Pty ltd took on a renovation job located in Mosman on Sydney Harbour. The house required new materials to be lowered down to the site from road level. The job also involved demolition of existing works that needed to be brought up to street level from the bottom of the site.
Unfortunately, the site had too many stairs to manually handle of all the rubbish going up and new materials going down.
“The site was situated on the side of a steep hill and had three tiered levels with the house built above a pool on stilts making the navigation of materials very tricky” commented Michael Broome, National Product Manager – Lift & Shift.
J P Thew were aware of the ladder hoist materials handling system available from Coates Hire but unaware of the systems’ capabilities.
Coates Hire went out on site to conduct a preliminary site inspection with the customer to determine exactly what the obstructions were and what the customer required. Identifying exactly what was needed with the customer, the Coates Hire Lift & Shift team at Ingleburn identified the Ladder Hoist solution that was appropriate for the job at hand.
“The site had installation issues due to the height and slope. This meant all the work had to be done wearing safety harnesses and following stringent safety procedures” said Mark Somers, Branch Manager – Ingleburn.
“Because of the location the job was quite unique. The customer had looked at cranes, barges and required a cost effective solution’ adds Mark.
Installation technicians Mate Kujundzija and John Gahan worked with the difficulties of the site to provide a faultless setup ensuring ease for the customer.
“We got the job done and the customer was very happy. When they require the equipment again they will be calling Coates Hire” Mark said.
