Hire Bidding supporting CanTeen
2 August 2011
Coates Hire bids up a storm for auction of a JLG lighting tower to help CanTeen help young people living with cancer.
The 2011 Hire and Rental Industry Association national convention, held in Perth earlier this year, provided more than just the usual opportunity for industry players to get together and see what's new.
Convention sponsor JLG Industries, held a charity auction on the opening night and donated a 4108AN lighting tower, with all proceeds going to CanTeen: the organisation dedicated specifically to help young people living with cancer.
The unique lighting tower is custom painted in a design based on one of CanTeen's signature bandannas and is a one-of-a-kind, working-day work of art.
CanTeen believes no young person should go through their cancer journey alone, which is why the Australia organisation supports, develops and empowers 12-24 year olds whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
“JLG is a major supplier to Coates Hire and we have a long and successful history of working together. This auction was a first for CanTeen and when we found out about it we were determined Coates Hire would win”, said Graham Turner, Coates Hire Commercial Manager – Assets.
“We’ll bring the lighting tower back to the East Coast and use it promotionally, as well as making it available for other worthwhile charitable causes. CanTeen is an invaluable part of our community and Coates Hire takes a lot of pride in having made the winning bid, providing them with a terrific financial boost to help them keep helping young Aussies,” Graham said.
