Nick Percat caps off a solid 2011 Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series
6 December 2011
Congratulations to Coates Hire Racing's Nick Percat who capped off a solid season with a solid performance @ Telstra 500 over the weekend.
Starting from the front row of the grid, Percat snatched the race lead on the opening lap of today’s rain-affected 17-lap race and continued to build a gap to the field in the wet conditions.
However as the track started drying, the #222 Coates Hire Commodore struggled for grip on wet tyres and eventually fell back to second with a handful of laps remaining.
His second place finish also handed him second overall for the round.
“The Coates Hire Commodore was really strong in the wet but we were probably too aggressive with our tyre pressures and that hurt us when the track started drying,” said Percat.
“Obviously it’s disappointing because we had the potential to win today, but a podium is a great reward for all the hard work the Coates Hire team has put in this year.”
