SUPPORTING COFFS HARBOUR JUNIOR SURF LIFE SAVERS
8 September 2014
Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club’s Nipper program has received a major boost this weekend with Coates Hire donating 10 nipper boards to the club and stepping on as a 2014 / 15 surf season partner.
Champion ironwoman Courtney Hancock, who grew up at nearby Sawtell and World Rally Championship star Chris Atkinson, both Coates Hire Ambassadors, were on hand to present 10 surfboards to a delighted Club President, Paul Ninness.
Courtney Hancock – “It’s amazing to be back home in Coffs Harbour and be a part of the Coates Hire family and see the kids faces light up when we presented the boards. They’re ready for the new season and it’s a great bond with Coates Hire, Coffs Surf club and for me to be involved with that, is overwhelming”.
Chris Atkinson – “It’s great to be here in Coffs Harbour today and to be presenting the boards on behalf of Coates Hire, who do an awesome job in ‘giving back’ to the communities in which they operate.
“It’s wonderful to see all the smiles on the kids faces. For me the focus next weekend in Coffs Harbour will be the Coates Hire Rally Australia as it’s so important for my season and I think it’s going to be one of the best events for the year. It’s going to be tough and challenging, but that’s why we love rallying”.
Next weekend sees the world’s best drivers, co-drivers and teams descend on Coffs Harbour for the Coates Hire Rally Australia, a gruelling three-day event held in the forests surrounding the town.
Driving for the Hyundai World Rally Championship team, which made its debut this season, Atkinson is sure to be a crowd favourite and with local knowledge on his side, another strong result for the team is possible in this toughest of motorsport disciplines.
