Turnkey certification streamlines services
1 May 2015
Turnkey certification services for structural work are now offered to Coates Hire customers.
Sudhir Raina is the first of Coates Hire’s technical development engineers to achieve chartered certification from the Institution of Engineers Australia. Coates Hire’s national technical manager, who has been with the company for 10 years, is approved to practise structural and civil engineering, and subdivisional geotechnics and management. His role involves managing structural support systems, including temporary structures, for buildings and ground support nationwide.
“The significance, from the Coates Hire perspective, of Sudhir’s registration as a professional engineer is that it allows us to offer customers turnkey solutions, from site visits to preliminary design to full design and, more importantly, inhouse certification and sign-off,” says Group Manager Specialist Business Rafi Tchopourian.
“Coates Hire has recently invested in innovative new products such as Mega Brace hydraulic shoring, bundled up with other specific product categories, and now we can offer a seamless service, value adding to our product as well as to our customers.”
He says the engineering and technical department has other engineers going through the certification process.
Sudhir, who is based in New South Wales, says the certification process is well worth the effort. “As Australia’s largest equipment hire company we are now able to offer a full set of turnkey services to many industries across the nation. If our customers desire we can not only specify, supply and install structural support systems, we can also certify that they adhere to all the relevant state and national safety regulations.
“In everyday, practical terms I can say that Coates Hire is now able to offer the full gamut of specialised support services.”
Established in 1919 and with approximately 60,000 members, the Institution of Engineers Australia is the largest and most diverse engineering association in Australia.
