Coates Hire takes pole position for 2013 V8 Supercars Championship The V8 Supercars roared back into action late last month, and as in previous years Coates Hire is heavily involved in the series that begun in Adelaide with the Clipsal 500. The series then makes it way around Australia to some of our most iconic race and street circuits, with the championship climax coming at the Sydney 500 in December.
Jamie Whincup, Garth Tander, Craig Lowndes and Russel Ingall are among the V8 superstars who will be vying for honours again in 2013, and Coates Hire will line up alongside these household names for a fourth year as the Official Equipment Supplier for the V8 Supercars Championship.
As Group Manager of Strategic Marketing Jeremy Hill explained, Coates Hire’s affiliation with motor sport, and Australian V8 racing in particular, is something the company believes passionately in.
“The V8s are a very important part of our business, and it is something that our employees and our customers relate directly to,” Jeremy said.
“The V8s sit right in the heart of our target market of engineers, project managers and tradespeople, but just as importantly it is a very family-focused sporting event, and that matters to Coates Hire.”
Sponsorship is only one element of Coates Hire’s involvement in the V8 series, and as Official Equipment Supplier, the company’s specialist events team also works hand-in-hand with the organisers to ensure each event is successfully staged.
“We support all Australian V8 Supercar rounds with the hire equipment required, and some take a lot more preparation than others. Particularly the street races like the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide,” Jeremy explained.
“The Clipsal 500 is logistically the largest V8 Supercar race we supply, and requires the most amount of gear and infrastructure to make the event happen, and it is also a very important event for our Adelaide customers and staff.”
Coates Hire is also the official naming rights sponsor for the ninth event on the V8 Supercars calendar, the Coates Hire Ipswich 300, to be held at the Queensland Raceway in Ipswich on July 27-28.
The company’s association with the Ipswich 300 is one Coates Hire is particularly proud of.
“The Ipswich community is very close to us in terms of our ties to the local community, particularly after the Queensland floods,” Jeremy said.
“Ipswich got hit particularly hard back in 2011, and it was after that that we decided to take naming rights to the event and strengthen those ties in a community where there was a lot of heartache for our customers, and for Coates Hire as a business.
“On top of which it’s a fantastic regional grassroots V8 Supercars event, which we believe ties very closely to the down to earth nature of our business.
“Australian sport is part of Australian culture, and we have great Australian people working with the company, and the company has a long, proud Australian history. So we think the tie is a logical one, and one that helps bring our brand to life through a sport that our people – customers and staff – love.”
