The Importance of Reliability
At CoatesHire we understand the importance of Reliability to your business. You can’t commit to your customers unless your suppliers can commit to you.
Every time a piece of equipment breaks down, is late or is unavailable it can cost you time, money and lost productivity.
With over 1,000,000 Assets to manage Reliability is a big issue for Coates Hire and therefore we have invested significantly in ensuring that our maintenance programs are second to none. Our dedicated and expert service teams have developed the program that is now an industry standard – Coates Hire Silver Service!
The “Silver Service” sticker program provides “Peace of Mind”
| All machines, from cement mixers to 25 tonne rollers, have their own customised service program which follows a specific service cycle - Coates Hire backs this up with a Transparent, Measurable and Accountable management system for every piece of equipment we hire.
Every Coates Hire machine is part of the Silver Service Program and carries a printed service sticker which details the machine’s service program and also records when the machine was serviced (date and hours), where it was serviced (Branch), and who serviced it (the mechanic’s initials) – Measurability and Accountability! It now doesn’t matter where the machine is or what time of day it is on any site, any place, anywhere, you can see at a glance the current service status of any machine in our fleet. |

Safety & On-Site Service Reports and Service Schedules
But Silver Service does not stop there. We also demand Safety & On-Site Service Reports and Service Schedules from our mechanics that tell us where and when the equipment was last serviced, any faults found, and the work that was done.
Information from all these reports is entered into our central computer system to establish a maintenance record on each machine over its whole life.
- Service Schedules detail all the work shown on the service stickers ...... but in more detail.
- On-Site Service Reports detail work done by field service mechanics.
- Safety Check Reports detail the safety checks done to high risk equipment such as elevating work platforms and telehandlers etc.
Logbooks
With OH&S legislation requiring employers to take more and more responsibility for their employees, we also produce a range of logbooks to enable operators to “safety check” the equipment before use, as well as record any faults that might have been found.
Operating and Safety Instructions
We also have ‘Operating and Safety Instruction’ sheets (for small plant only) which we print off at Branch level to advise the customer how to operate and use the equipment safely.
These sheets are produced in-house and summarise the critical information taken from often complex & much larger manufacturer’s manuals – We save you the time and risk associated with identifying the information you need to safely and reliably operate our equipment.
The sheets also include additional tips and information that we’ve gained from experience (that you won’t find in the manufacturer’s manual).
For high risk equipment or equipment going straight to site, the sheets can be attached to the equipment using a resealable plastic bag.
Safe Work Methods – Hazard Information Sheets
With OH&S legislation also requiring site management to take more responsibility for the safe use of the plant and equipment on site we also produce ‘Hazard Information’ sheets.
These sheets identify the possible hazards and risks when using the equipment on site and the suggested control measures to reduce those risks.
