The Coates Hire Graduate program is diverse and allows you to see many parts of the business. I was attracted to it because it is so different to anything else in the market. While the first rotation was a challenge, it felt extremely rewarding to complete.

I built relationships in the company and they made me feel a part of a big team. I found that people value my input as a graduate, and made me feel like an asset to the team. I love that each day on the rotation can be different, and different things can be thrown your way.

The people at Coates Hire are so much fun to work with and make all the struggles of learning worthwhile. You need to start with an open mind and be willing to jump in and do anything. The program has been full on from the start which makes time go incredibly quick, it often makes you think on your feet and soon as you¹re comfortable in one role your onto the next!

A major reason for the interest in the Coates Hire Graduate Program is that you are given exposure to a wide variety of areas within the business. A key point to note within this program is the fact that in a few short years you will be formally recognised as a leader within an iconic Australian company.

As a graduate you often feel privileged from the exposure you are given into the mechanisms of Coates hire from behind the scenes to the frontline.  You need to be a resilient individual and willing to put the effort in. You must be willing to work long hours and be flexible in the way you work. We were told from the start that we would become a key part of the Coates Hire team.

I guess what is a bit unexpected is the high degree of value that is placed upon you in such a short period of time as a result of the effort you put in and the way you build relationships.

Working for Coates Hire has been a unique experience. The program has thrown many challenges my way and has allowed me to try many new things I wouldn’t have got in any other graduate program.

The program isn’t quite what I was expecting, it has been more hands-on with more expectations to perform in the role than I anticipated, but this has helped push my development further.

I chose Coates Hire because the program promoted leadership and I believed in the company values. In terms of what I expected, it is quite different.  Be prepared to work hard and learn a lot in areas which you may not expect to learn about.

You need an open mind, be an agent for change and keep striving to learn more. I have enjoyed the opportunities that are given to us to network with senior staff and share our opinions on how the business can improve.

This is an amazing opportunity and I love being able to help bring people along the journey for change.
