Over the past 35 years FORD CIVIL CONTRACTING PTY LTD has developed its expertise to accommodate an extensive range of Civil Construction Projects. Covering the greater Sydney region, the company initially specialised in only Demolition and Excavation. Ford Civil remains one of the premier authorities in Bulk Demolition Excavation and Pilling. Today however, Ford Civil is involved in projects ranging from RTA Roadworks, Local Government Streetscapes, major earth/landscaping works and Marine and Ports work.

From 20 odd staff in the early days of operation, Ford Civil has grown to a workforce of 80 full timers in addition to external contractors and a contingent of causal staff members for seasonal demand cycles.

No stranger to acclaim, Ford Civil has received numerous awards for its projects including a 2009 CCF Finalist award for the Former Water Police Park (FWPP) site in Pyrmont. 

Ford’s experience has identified them as an authority in developing solutions, especially within the field of Bulk Demolition & Excavation.

Flexibility

Ford Civil has leveraged its expertise to become leaders in a number of markets to offset business fluctuations in individual markets and as a strong basis for expansion. In addition to Ford’s in house equipment, Coates Hire provides that added flexibility Ford Civil requires in diverse markets and seasonal fluctuations.

Particularly busy periods may mean staff and assets are stretched geographically at the opposite ends of areas Ford Civil covers, far up north of Sydney as Newcastle and south of Sydney towards Canberra. With over 200 branches nationwide, Coates Hire is the perfect peak season supplement.

A lot of the equipment Ford needs they just can’t carry full time. Ford often uses Coates’ larger earthmoving and compaction gear alongside their own equipment.

The traffic barriers and lighting towers they hire from us are a good example. Ford doesn’t have to store them for months on end when they’re not using them.

In addition to traffic management and lighting, Ford Civil also regularly hires rollers, compactors, excavators, a range of site accommodation equipment, tipper trucks, dewatering equipment as well as a range of smaller gear i.e. jack hammers, demolition saws, air breakers, general small tools etc.

Reduced transport costs

By having their equipment delivered onsite Ford save a lot of transport costs. 

On site maintenance

Even though Ford has their own maintenance facilities, hiring gear from us means they can have equipment maintained onsite and somebody to call within reach if anything breaks down.

Like the staff at Ford Civil, Coates Hire is also proud of the service it can offer its customers to ensure their businesses run smoothly. If equipment is not available at a customer’s regular branch, it will be sourced and booked for the customer from another branch.
