This working at heights course will qualify you for a working at Heights ticket required to prove you understand the safety implications of height work. Covers the RIIWHS204D unit of competency regarding hazards, tools & equipment and operational plans.
What will be coveredThis course covers the competency required to undertake safe working practices when working at heights or depths and includes:
- Legislation and requirements
- Environmental protection
- Duty of care
- Safe work practices
- Safe work method statements
- Task assessment
- Site information
- Hazards and risk management
- Operational plan
- Personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Tools and equipment
- Emergencies and reporting incidents
- Dismantle safety system
- Clear work area and tidy up
- Check and store equipment
Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency:
- RIIWHS204D – Work Safely At Heights
- Trainee Card
- Ability to read and correctly interpret complex signage; speak clearly and unambiguously in English; and to explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues. Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Problem Solving Activities
- Problem solving questions (written)
- Short answer questions (written)
- Group participation
- Work “type” activities
- Observation of practical skills
- Recognition of prior learning (if applicable)
