Coates Hire Confined Space Training Recertification will give you the confined space trainee card. It is recommended by industry that you complete Confined Space Training Recertification every 2-3 years.
Overview
This course is designed for those who have previously completed and received qualification for confined space. Participants will be working in confined spaces (enclosed or partially enclosed) for the purpose of carrying out work or inspections and also appropriate for those performing sentry or stand-by person roles‚ at worksites or those completing permits and procedural documents.
What will be covered
This course reassesses competence in the units listed under outcome. This course meets the requirements of State/Territory WHS Regulators and Australian Standard AS 2865-2009.
Plan and prepare for entering and working in confined spaces
Enter and work in the confined space
Exit confined space
Clean up
Identify hazards
Assess risk and identify unacceptable risk
Identify, assess and implement risk treatments
Conduct checks on breathing apparatus
Complete records and reports
Conclude operations
Outcome
Statement of Attainment issued for the following units of competency [where evidence of prior completion held]:
RIIRIS201D – Conduct local risk control
RIIWHS202D – Enter and work in confined spaces
RIIWHS201D - Work safely and follow WHS policies and procedure
MSMWHS216 – Operate breathing apparatus
MSMWHS217 - Gas test atmosphere
MSMPER200 - Work in accordance with an issued permit

Entry Requirements
Ability to read and correctly interpret complex signage; speak clearly and unambiguously in English; and to explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues.
Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms.
Evidence of units previously completed. This may be a Statement of Attainment or Card issued by a Registered Training Organisation.
