Those requiring a licence to operate a boom type elevating work platform with a boom length of 11m or more.

EWP Ticket training WA instructs you in the safe operation of elevated work platforms to the National licensing standard. Upon successful completion of the course you should apply for the Nationally Accredited High Risk Licence through any Australia Post outlet within 60 days and pay the applicable licensing fee; your card will then be issued by WorkSafe WA.

What will be covered

This course is based on the requirements of the WHS Regulation 2011 and in its current form meets State and Territory licensing requirements.

The course covers:

  • Compliance with WH&S licensing legislation
  • Emergency procedures and safety equipment, including the use of safety harnesses, energy absorbers, lanyard and anchor points
  • Risk assessment and hazard control strategies
  • Appropriate procedures for estimation of loads, to insure that the elevating work platform is not overloaded
  • Plan work
  • Conduct routine checks
  • Operating elevated work platforms safely
  • Elevate an elevated work platforms to a work location
  • Secure elevated work platform

Statement of Attainment for the following unit of competency:

  • TLILIC2005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11m or more)
  • High Risk Work Licence (WP) Plastic Card – issued by WorkSafe WA
  • 100 points of ID (If you do not hold WA-issued photo ID, you must notify Coates Hire Training Services PRIOR to enrolment).
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret complex signage; speak clearly and unambiguously in English; and to explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues. Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • NB. Apply for High Risk Work Licence through WorkSafe WA– extra fee applies (participant has 60 days from notice of satisfactory assessment issued to do this. If 60 days has passed, extra fees apply for reassessment)
