Hi everyone!

It’s already been a busy week as we head towards the official kick off for the 2020 Supercars season at the Superloop Adelaide 500.

A couple pieces of exciting news have broken this week.  The first is that young gun Tom Randle will be co-driving with me at the endurances races this year. I’m wrapped to have him join me because he showed tremendous talent last year when he made his main game co-driving debut. He’ll get regular miles in the Dunlop Super2 series this year as well as participating in the designated co-driver practice sessions in the lead up to the enduros.

Tom sampled Car 8 for the first time at the official Supercar test day at The Bend earlier this week, and I was happy with how well he adjusted straight into the car and the team.

The other news is that I’m happy to report I’ve just re-signed with Brad Jones Racing and extended my contract for another few years. So it’s a great way to start the 2020 season knowing I’m committed to BJR for the future.
We head into the Adelaide 500 with a shiny new chassis, and some new parts unique to BJR that have been designed, created and tested in-house. Hopefully we see some gains on track with those.

It will be an interesting year with the implementation of the control damper and the aero changes that have been made across both Ford and Holden in the off-season. I’m hoping that less aero will mean we can follow closer behind other cars, make bigger passes, and bring an improvement in the racing and entertainment for the fans.

In Adelaide Car 8 has the backing of X-Convenience, which is a South Australian brand, and world-renowned brand Mobil so it’s great to have them both on my car, it looks great. I’m excited to get back into it. I love racing in my home state, it’s an event I’ve won in the past and street tracks are my favourite style of circuit.
My pre-season preparation has been really good. My trainer Heath has been smashing me in our training sessions. We had a little four-day training camp down in Lorne where I did a lot of ocean water swimming, and hill repeats, trail runs and the like. I’ve also been out on the bike a lot, so I’m feeling fit and healthy and raring to go.

I’m aiming for a solid start to the year, and my goal is to leave Adelaide with two solid top ten results and feeling confident in the reliability of the car.
