The ability to read and correctly interpret complex signage; speak clearly and unambiguously in English; and to explain, describe and verify sometimes complex needs and issues. Writing is required to the level of completing workplace forms.


Most sites run a plant induction process to ensure plant is in good working order and fit for purpose prior to allowing operators, workers, or contractors to operate the plant on-site. Often persons charged with conducting these plant inspections are unfamiliar with the type of equipment they are inducting.

This course is the first step in conducting plant hazard identification, plant risk assessments and the control of hazardous plant.


A Certificate of Attendance or Plant Familiarisation Card detailing the specific make and model of items of plant.
